SummitShare values transparency in managing donations, ensuring community and project support via secure blockchain transactions.

Introduction SummitShare values transparency, accountability, and community engagement in all its financial transactions. This policy provides detailed guidelines on how donations are received, managed, and allocated to maximize impact and maintain donor trust.

Donation Types and Allocation

  1. Project Donations:

    • Purpose: Funds are dedicated to the technological development, research initiatives, and operational scaling of SummitShare projects.
    • Management: Donations are deposited into an escrow wallet. Once funds are received, 40% is allocated to the project to facilitate research, operations, infrastructure development, and the establishment of relationships with heritage communities. This also includes monitoring and evaluation reports, which donors can opt into through our newsletter.
    • Transparency: Donors are added to a special stakeholder mailing list, receiving regular updates on how funds are spent and the progress of projects supported by their contributions.
  2. Heritage Community Donations:

    • Purpose: Contributions directly support the active heritage community, focusing on sustainable development goals such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, food, water, sanitation and local economic development.
    • Management: 60% of the donations are allocated to the active heritage community. Funds are managed through a community multisig wallet, involving key community stakeholders in the governance to foster local ownership and accountability.
    • Allocation: Community leaders and stakeholders vote on the allocation of funds, prioritizing projects based on urgency and potential impact. The distribution page on our website includes a goal tracker and transaction hashes for all relevant points.

Donation Process

  • Currency and Platform: All financial contributions are processed via their respective blockchains. The proect and community multisig are on the Optimism blockchain to leverage its secure and efficient transaction capabilities.
  • Accepted Tokens: Ether, ERC-20 tokens such as DAI, USDT, USDC, Bitcoin, and Solana.
  • Donation Steps: Donors are guided through a secure donation process, which confirms the amount and the chosen token, and records donor preferences regarding anonymity and receipt of financial reports.

Donor Anonymity and Recognition

  • Anonymity Options: Donors may choose to remain anonymous or to be recognized for their generosity.
  • Recognition: Donors who opt to attach their names to contributions are acknowledged in our annual reports, newsletters, and on our website, unless they request otherwise.
  • Privacy: Donor information is handled with the utmost confidentiality and is not shared with any third parties without explicit consent.

Reporting and Accountability

  • Quarterly Reports: Donors contributing to the project can opt to receive detailed quarterly reports that outline expenditures, achievements, and the financial health of the project.
  • Community Reports: Donors to the heritage community receive updates on fund utilization and community impact, ensuring they see the tangible outcomes of their support.

Donation Addresses and Allocation The addresses present on our website are for an escrow wallet. Once funds are received by that wallet, they are distributed 60% to the active heritage community and 40% to the project. This allocation supports the active heritage community's development goals, which can be found on the distribution page of our website. This page also includes a goal tracker and transaction hashes for all relevant points.

Additional Information Your donation assists us with monitoring and evaluation reports in communities once funds have been distributed. We are subsequently planning a way to award donors with a stamp of participation in the near future. A lot goes into organizing an exhibit and distribution, and we are eternally grateful for your contribution. We, as a project, are aligned and dedicated to handling your donations with the utmost transparency and will publish expenditure reports at the end of each fiscal quarter.
